Yesterday Summus (Mobile Application Developer) launched Oasys Mobile, a portal that lets subscribers purchase ringtones, games and other content for their phones.
It appears that they've also changed their company name to Oasys Mobile.
I know a few folks at Oasys and I wish them best of luck with the name change and new efforts. They raised a fair amount of money in 2005 which I guess they are putting to work.
I tried to buy a Poker Game from the site and the Carrier Billing piece did not work. I re-tried using Paypal and it worked great.

Summus changes name, launches portal
Cingular launches Slvr
Cingular Wireless has started offering its customers the Slvr, an ultra-thin phone from Motorola Inc. loaded with the popular iTunes music-playing software from Apple Computer Inc.
The Slvr takes its cue from Motorola's hit-selling Razr cell phone, and is the company's second take on a device that includes Apple's music software. Cingular is charging customers who sign up for a two-year contract $199.99 for the phone.
Hopefully this one fares better than the ROKR which as far as I can tell, was a major bust.
