Best Buy, the first major independent U.S. retailer to sell Apple's iPhone 3G, has begun selling refurbished versions of the phone at a $50 discount.
The retailer is selling the 8GB version for $149 and the 16GB version for $249. The refurbished phones are ones that were returned during the 30-day trial period.
"This is focusing on customers' needs, trying to provide as wide a range of products and networks for our consumers," said Scott Moore, vice president of marketing for Best Buy Mobile.
The move comes a little more than a week after retailer Wal-Mart began selling new iPhones at $197 for the 8GB model and $297 for the 16GB model.
